The Fassi-sponsored truck driven by Gerard De Rooy of the Petronas De Rooy IVECO team finishes in 4th place in the Africa Eco Race 2018
Dakar (Senegal) – On 14th January the participants of the Africa Eco Race 2018 contested the 12th and final stage of the competition, ending in Dakar, Senegal’s capital city. Fassi joined with Petronas De Rooy IVECO to support the Dutch truck driver Gerard De Rooy in the important rally raid event, who gave a very satisfactory performance, attaining consistently good times throughout all stages of the challenging race, rarely falling out of the top 10, and finally achieving the overall position of 4th place and 1st place in the truck category.
The race, which started on 2nd January in Nador in the north of Morocco, consisted of a distance of almost 4,000 timed kilometres, in addition to the distance travelled by vehicles in transfer between the official stages, the majority of which took place on tough desert and dune terrain. Congratulations to Gerard and his team for this achievement.
