Fassi meets the students of the Manufacturing Studies course of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Bergamo

Dalmine (Bergamo) - Manufacturing Studies is a fifth-year module of the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering of the University of Bergamo (UNIBG). The aim of this course is to provide students with methods and techniques for industrial conception, design and manufacture and to facilitate the correct choice of the best available and most usable technology for the manufacture of industrial products, based on the relation between design, materials, production techniques and relative costs.

As in the past, Fassi Gru S.p.A. was invited by the faculty staff members Chiara Ravasio and Gianluca Danilo D'Urso to contribute by bringing a real example from the industrial field. Specifically, Rossano Ceresoli, the Director of Fassi R&D, and the collaborator Valentino Birolini outlined the engineering stages applied to every project, starting from the design specifications, through the entire design process, up to the production of the first prototype. They stressed the importance of trial testing and of passing fatigue tests to achieve set quality standards, as well as all the fundamental preparatory aspects that anticipate the launch of a product’s series production. The students who took part in this seminar focused a lot of attention on the innovative model developed and applied by Fassi Design because of their awareness of this brand as a true example of excellence in the context of Italian manufacturing. It was a unique opportunity to learn the concrete value of the basic concepts the course provides.
