Fassi sponsors Team PETRONAS De Rooy IVECO in the Dakar rally for the second year in a row
Lima (Peru) – For the second year in a row, Fassi is one of the sponsors of the Team PETRONAS De Rooy IVECO in their quest to dominate in the Dakar 2019 rally. Now in its 41st edition, the race started on 6th January from Lima and will pass through the Peruvian cities of Pisco, San Juan de Marcona and Arequipa before ending in Pisco on 17th January.
The 10 stages of the race will see the drivers and their teams cover 5000 km of tough terrain, 70% of which being sand dunes. This year, Team PETRONAS De Rooy IVECO will race four different vehicles: Number #503: Iveco Powerstar Evo 3 (driven by Gérard De Rooy, winner of the competition in 2012 and 2016), Number #505: Iveco Powerstar Evo 3 (driven by Federico Villagra), Number #509: Iveco Powerstar Evo 2 (driven by Anton Van Genugten, winner of four stages and most successful driver at the Dakar 2018 rally) and Number #513: IVECO Powerstar Evo 2 (driven by Maurik van den Heuvel).
