The outcome of F1 Austrian Grand Prix remained uncertain until the end. Minimal collisions meant little work for Fassi cranes
Spielberg (Austria) – On 9th July the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, a short and fast circuit full of slopes and sharp turns, played host to the F1 Grand Prix, the outcome of which remained uncertain until the end, with little distance between the top-ranked drivers. After this race, the world championship leadership table remains unchanged, with the competition between Sebastian Vettel and Lewis Hamilton set to continue. The weather forecast was set for rain, which never made an appearance.
The drivers Max Verstappen and Fernando Alonso were eliminated in the early stages of the race due to a poor start by the Russian driver Daniil Kvyat, who hit the Spaniard’s car which in turn couldn’t avoid colliding with Max Verstappen’s vehicle. Apart from this episode, which occurred soon after the start, during the rest of the race there were no other accidents that required the intervention of the Fassi cranes on the track, which were mounted on recovery vehicles. The eventual winner was the Finnish driver Valtteri Viktor Bottas.
