Fassi Gru at GIS 2019

An important date for Fassi Gru at GIS 2019: 10 Fassi cranes all set up on trucks are on display in the two stands totalling an area of 900 square metres, as well as a Marrel hooklift, two ATN platforms and a lot of anticipation surrounding the presentation of the "Drive by Fassi" system.

The Fassi Group wanted to seize the opportunity offered by GIS 2019, the Italian Cranes & Access and Heavy Transport Show, held at Piacenza Expo from 3rd to 5th October, to present a series of new products. At the same time, the company takes advantage of the only Italian event dedicated to the world of lifting and heavy transport, areas in which Fassi products are particularly valued and play a leading role.

"Two stands in a total of 900 square metres are the best proof of how much Fassi Gru believes in GIS,” explains Mauro Dellacasa, Head of Italian Sales at Fassi Gru. “10 installations for as many cranes, the debut of the 'small' Fassi F30M, the live demonstration of the possibilities of 'Drive by Fassi' (the first step towards new frontiers in the management of the truck/crane assembly), the presence of the subsidiaries Marrel and ATN and the spaces dedicated to CENPI Training and CRG Association make our presence an authentic event within the event. The goal is to meet our customers and potential ones operating in areas where our products are highly valued. This is particularly true for cranes from 50 tm onwards, whose fields of use are varied: not only for lifting, but also for the placement and assembly of machinery and other materials in enclosed places and with height limits, such as industrial warehouses. Another category that we follow with great interest are the renters to whom we can propose the new the light-duty range F30M crane and the Marrel AL3PA hooklift, which are ideal for handling operations in urban centres or wherever there are restricted spaces. The ATN self-propelled aerial platforms will also be making their debut at the Fassi stand, equipment of sure interest both for renters and for those who carry out aerial maintenance activities in small spaces,“ he said.

The main Fassi structure is located in the outdoor area, at Stand M16-N15/20 on a total of 750 square metres. In this area, there will be:

  • Fassi F30M.0.23 crane installed on an Isuzu M21 Spring (35ptt)
  • Fassi F485RA.2.26 xe-dynamic L214 crane on a Volvo FH500 62TR (6X2)
  • Fassi F1650RA.2.28 xhe-dynamic L816 crane on a Scania G500 New generation (8X2)
  • Fassi F1150RA.2.28 xhe-dynamic L616 crane on a Sdogia R580B (8x2) VOLVO
  • Fassi F950RA.2.26 he-dynamic crane on an Iveco Trakker 500 (8x4) with an Omars 120T fork pallet
  • Fassi F345RA.2.26 xe-dynamic crane on a Scania R450 (4x2)
  • Marrel AL3PA hooklift on an Iveco Daily 35q
  • ATN Piaf 12RE self-propelled aerial work platform
  • ATN e Zebra 16 Stab self-propelled aerial work platform

In the same area, the "Drive by Fassi" technology is presented in a world preview, combined with the Volvo "Exster" interface (see dedicated press release). The Volvo FH 500 (8X2) set up with a Fassi F820RA.2.26 xhe-dynamic L426 crane will be moved directly from the crane’s Fassi V7 remote control inside a conveniently cordoned-off 25 x 8m corridor.

The other absolute novelty is the light-range Fassi F30M crane which, thanks to the use of special steels and different design solutions, has a considerable weight reduction, a very sensitive datum in the particular setup phase. It is therefore an ideal solution for commercial vehicles that, by ensuring a greater payload, can offer an extra opportunity for both users and renters of this equipment.

The exhibition space is completed by the offices where CENPI Training and the CRG Association are housed. For over ten years, CENPI has been providing courses dedicated to users of all lifting equipment. Many of these courses are organised and supported by the Fassi sales and assistance network.

Recently, the company has carried out a course on behalf of Fassi and CRG dedicated to cargo crane maintenance. From this positive experience, further courses dedicated to repair and maintenance activities will be implemented and organised shortly.

CRG (which stands for Centro Revisioni Gru - Crane Review Centre) confirms its regional cover thanks to over 40 associated workshops distributed throughout the national territory, all specialists in the execution of maintenance, repairs and periodic checks of various lifting equipment.

Three other outfits are displayed in the outdoor arena, strategically located at the EST entrance to the fair at the Stand N2A:

  • Fassi F545RA.27 xe-dynamic L214 crane on a Volvo FMX 500 (6X2)
  • Fassi F990RA.2.28 xhe-dynamic L616 crane on a Volvo VT43R FM (8X2)
  • Fassi F1100RA.2.26 xhe-dynamic crane on a Volvo FH500 (8X2)
