Advanced technology for the green transition

The Fassi Group continues with its commitment to innovation and sustainability at the 26th edition of Ecomondo in Rimini. Joined by Cranab and Marrel, Fassi will be presenting innovative solutions to face the challenges of the green and circular economies.

There are two words that, alone, may seem ambitious. However, together, they indicate the path towards the future; these words are innovation and sustainability. Two concepts that move forward at the same pace, because nowadays, technology can no longer simply be useful; it also has to be responsible. It truly achieves this when it is able to allow technological progress to also serve the environment, actively contributing to protecting natural resources.

This year, Fassi’s participation in Ecomondo 2024 is a clear expression of these values. The progress made since last year’s edition is evident. The introduction of advanced technology such as the AmpliDrive controls from Marrel and the new RZ15 crane from Cranab highlights how the Group is evolving, with proposals that are increasingly able to respond to the demands of a constantly changing market that is ever-more focused on ecology and efficiency. This capacity for innovation is confirmed by the Fassi F185A.1.22 E-DYNAMIC, a clear example of how technology and flexibility are following a shared and well-defined path. Concrete action and vision come together in a future-oriented approach, ready to take on the challenges of renewable energy and ecology.

However, this is not simply the result of technical progress. It is the legacy of a deep-rooted vision that has always looked beyond the horizon, imagining a world in which cranes are not mere machines, but rather tools for a better tomorrow. Today, that visionary spark continues to shine, to be renewed with each new challenge, shaping a future that is not waiting to be constructed, but that is being created step by step, innovation after innovation.

For Fassi, innovation means looking beyond the present, imagining and creating projects that can also respond to future challenges. Each and every system is designed to last, without ever compromising the resources of future generations. This vision guides every step taken by the Group, and it is the philosophy carried forward at Ecomondo 2024. This is no simple exhibition of advanced technology, but rather a declaration of intent; to build a sustainable and fair future, complete, modern and reliable tools are always the right choice.

With this in mind, the Group is presented in a coordinated and coherent manner, together with Cranab and Marrel who, with their products, not only improve productivity, but also aim to create innovations destined to play a key role in the most important sectors of the green and circular economies. From recycling to the sustainable management of resources, from urban maintenance to the integration of renewable energy sources. These approaches are not simply in response to current demands; they are also planned to play an integral role in future production cycles destined to guide the global ecological transition.

Cranab AB, a Group company, is specialised in the production of cranes for the forestry industry and the recycling sector. The western forests of Bothnia, in Sweden, are the site of development of the off-road range, which fully embraces the company’s mission to serve the forestry industry. On-road cranes, on the contrary, are developed in Italy, where the combined know-how of Fassi and Cranab guarantees the creation of loaders for the forestry and recycling sectors that offer excellent performance and an ever-wider range of solutions for global target markets.

The hooklifts by the French Marrel SAS have established a leading position in the market, and are an essential tool in waste management, as well as for the transportation and handling of a range of materials. The company is constantly committed to developing products, services and solutions that help clients to manage resources in a more efficient manner, while at the same time maximising productivity.

Daniele Vismara, Head of Sales for Italy for Fassi Gru, adds: “For Fassi, change and innovation are fundamental aspects of our process. It is not merely a case of responding to market demands, but to anticipate future challenges with technology that combines sustainability, safety and performance. Innovation means much more than just improving what already exists; it means having the courage to seek out new solutions, building a future in which efficiency and responsibility can exist side by side. Our group vision drives us to develop products that can make a difference, not only for our clients, but for the whole community and for the environment”.

“The new technology that we have integrated allows us to further strengthen our competitive standing, responding in a precise and targeted manner to the demands of a constantly evolving sector that is increasingly oriented towards advanced technological solutions. Ours is a practical and pragmatic approach; we do not simply innovate, but we do so with the aim of successfully facing all the future challenges that the eco-friendly and green markets will present. - explains Marco Del Campanile, commercial agent for Fassi and commercial manager for Marrel and Cranab for the Italian market - The solutions we are presenting at Ecomondo 2024 are the result of tireless research and development aimed at providing a precise response to the challenges posed by the green sector. The Fassi F185A.1.22 E-DYNAMIC crane combines high performance and flexibility, rendering it ideal for countless applications. With the AL26Si hooklift and AmpliDrive technology, Marrel shows how innovation and efficiency play an essential role in improved productivity aimed at reducing environmental impact. Cranab is presenting the brand-new RZ15, a crane that underscores the company’s mission to push the confines of technology in the recycling and forestry sectors, guaranteeing reliable and sustainable solutions”.

The Fassi stand will be presenting:

  • The Fassi F185A.1.22 E-DYNAMIC crane, which stands out for its high performance and extreme versatility. With a lifting capacity of 19.94 tm and a hydraulic outreach of 8.20 m, it is ideal for use in urban areas, also thanks to its compact dimensions: 2.50 m wide, 0.85 metres long and 2.25 metres high.

Equipped with an FX500 electronic control unit and D850 digital hydraulic distributor, the F185A.1 offers precise and intuitive control. The RCH/RCS radio control unit makes remote control simple and efficient, while the linkage guarantees the useful prolink function, and the rack and pinion system allows for 416-degree rotation, offering ample operational flexibility. This crane is an ideal representation of the versatile nature of Fassi solutions, allowing for the integration of accessories such as polyp grabs and grippers, which are ideal for applications in the ecological sector and for urban maintenance, perfectly embracing the demands of green technology in renewable energy sources and waste management.

Also present:

  • The Marrel AL26Si hooklift (displayed on the stand), with which Marrel has redefined its already extensive range for the market, increasing the number of hydraulic and electronic control solutions with the new generation AmpliDrive. This model, ideal for skips from 6200 mm upwards, is equipped with the brand-new Pro Pack version, which includes dual wired and/or radio-controlled electronic commands as well as a proportional distributor, to optimise performance and guarantee elevated levels of operational safety. As always, Marrel also pays significant attention to its range of accessories and system configurations, ideal for more complex set-ups.
  • The external area will also include the Marrel AL26PASLi fitted to a DAF Xd, ideal for skips of up to 7200 mm, and the Marrel AL6 fitted to an Isuzu P 75, a super-compact version ideal for the needs of demanding work sites, while offering the agility required in urban centres.
  • The new Cranab RZ15.2 represents Cranab’s response to a market demanding ever-higher levels of performance, while at the same time guaranteeing compact dimensions and reduced weight. The model presented at Ecomondo offers a maximum outreach of 10.5 metres as well as standard controls, ideal for use in both the recycling and forestry sectors. The RZ15.2 marks the first step of a new programme of products combining the consolidated experience of Cranab with continuous innovation.

The stand is number 200, pavilion A5, with an indoor area of 126 m2. Just a few metres away, in the pool area, is the 103.51-m2 external area.
